Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St Mary’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Thank you for your interest in St Mary’s Catholic Primary school.

From the time a child joins us until the time they leave, the whole team at St Mary’s endeavour to do the very best for them. We pride ourselves on having high expectations, in work and play, and all pupils are just as proud of being the very best they can be. Our pupils have exemplary behaviour and manners and they are proud to tell visitors, ‘we respect and care for each other- we are a big family’.

We work very closely with parents to ensure that all children have the very best start to their school life. We love to celebrate successes and consider this to be the highlight of any week. We know that things sometimes don’t go as we would hope; we encourage parents to raise any concerns early, however small they may be. We also ensure that, where a child may need support, parents are informed and that support is put in place. We know that life is precious and that every second counts in a child’s development. This is central to our mission and always at the centre of what we do.

All of our children and their families are a vital part of the school community, together with staff, governors and parishioners from St Mary’s Church; I am delighted to be a part of this community and I see it as a great privilege to be the Head Teacher.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like to visit; you would be very welcome.

Yours sincerely,

L Maylard-Mason
